Semi-Truck Fatal Crash on 10 Freeway

Semi-Truck Fatal Crash on 10 Freeway

West Covina, CA — A fatal semi-truck accident closed eastbound lanes on the 10 Freeway early Thursday morning. The crash was reported at 3 a.m.

A semi-truck came to a stop on the highway behind a stopped Honda Civic. According to the CHP, traffic was stopped because of another accident.

Another semi-truck came to a stop behind the first. However, a third semi-truck, reportedly after losing control, was unable to stop in time and collided with the second.

The driver of the first semi-truck was killed on impact. The driver of the third semi-truck suffered a head wound and was transported to the hospital. The conditions of the other semi-truck driver and the driver of the Honda are currently unknown.

The eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway were closed between Citrus Ave. and Azusa for several hours while crews worked on cleaning up the scene. There were crews also redirecting traffic to exit on Citrus to clear congestion. By 11:45 a.m., all of the lanes were open except the far right lane.
