Fatal Hit-and-Run In Sun Valley
Sun Valley, CA (April 13, 2019) - Olivia Enriquez’s family gathered Saturday to remember Olivia and her husband, Lee West.
The couple died Friday night in a violent car crash caused by two cars that police say were street racing.
“I’m in total shock,” said the victim’s sister Hermina Andersen.
Enriquez picked up her husband from work around 7 p.m.on Saturday and drove down San Fernando Road.. As she was making a left turn onto Lankershim Boulevard, a white Dodge Charger slammed into Enriquez’s car. Both Enriquez and her husband died on the scene.
“This thing they call ‘fun’ destroyed our family,” said the victim’s sister Aurora Rincon.
The driver of the white Dodge Charger, a 25-year-old female from Paicoima, was speeding and driving recklessly at the time of the accident. She was apparently engaged in a street race with the driver of a dark-colored Dodge Charger.
The driver of the white Dodge Charger and her two passengers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say she will be arrested and booked for murder.
Police are looking for the driver of the dark-colored Charger, who fled the scene. If you know who was driving the dark Dodge Charger that night, please contact the LAPD.
