Crash Near La Grange Kills One, Injures Four

LA GRANGE, CA (MAY 20, 2019)- A fiery car crash near La Grange killed one and injured four others Sunday afternoon. According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 3 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Nissan sedan was traveling east on Highway 132 when the driver veered into the westbound lane for unknown reasons. There, it was struck by a 2016 Subaru driven by 40-year-old Carrie Nau.

The Nissan then came to a rest on the side of the road, where it burst into flames. Authorities report that the driver, whose identity has not been released, was unable to free herself from the burning vehicle.

Nau and her four passengers, including three young children, were taken to area hospitals to be treated for minor injuries. A CHP spokesman noted that the Subaru’s passengers likely suffered only minimal injuries because they were wearing seatbelts.
