Driver Charged After Multiple Vehicle Accident Near Windsor Hills in 2022 Left 6 Dead

Los Angeles, CA (April 4, 2023) — The driver accused of causing a multiple car crash in August of last year that left six people dead has now been charged for the incident. The driver, 37-year-old Nicole Linton, was arrested in August 2022 following the accident on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. However, those charges have been upgraded since, and she now faces six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.

The crash in question occurred on August 4, 2022, at around 1:41 PM at the intersection of W. Slauson Avenue and S. La Brea Avenue in Windsor Hills. According to the California Highway Patrol, Linton was driving her gray Mercedes-Benz on S. La Brea Avenue at over 100 mph when she ran a red light. Her vehicle then crashed into a half-dozen cars, causing two other vehicles to burst into flames. The victims killed in the crash included pregnant 23-year-old Asherey Ryan, her 11-month old son Alonzo Quintero, her unborn son, her 24-year-old fiancé Reynold Lester, 43-year-old Nathesia Lewis, and 38-year-old Lynette Noble. Several other people were also injured.

According to Linton’s lawyers, she allegedly suffered a seizure while driving, causing her to freeze. However, emergency room doctors who treated her immediately following the crash did not see any signs of a seizure or other impairment that would have caused a loss of consciousness. Linton is currently being held without bail.
