Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Crash on Highway 4 Identified

Pittsburg, CA — The motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 4 early Monday, August 26th, has been identified by authorities.

James Woods, 61, was traveling westbound when he rear-ended a Toyota Camry around 8 a.m. Woods was thrown from his motorcycle onto the highway, where he was struck by a big rig. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported, and authorities are continuing to investigate whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The incident closed several lanes of the highway for several hours as emergency crews investigated the scene.
