Forklift Operator Killed During Early Morning Delivery

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 2, 2019) - A forklift operator was tragically killed in a workplace accident.

A car collided with the forklift during a business delivery in the northern San Fernando Valley region, north of Los Angeles.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, a man was using a forklift to deliver live poultry. He was unloading chickens in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacoima on Foothill Boulevard between Fillmore Street and Van Nuys Boulevard. The accident happened when a blue Hyundai struck the forklift driver.

The driver of the Hyundai remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police have yet to release further accident details, including the name of the man who died. Police did say he was a Fresno Man in his 60’s. The man's identity has been withheld, pending notification of family.

Because the forklift operator was on the job at the time of the crash, police deemed it a workplace accident. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration reported to investigate the scene.
