One Dead, One Injured In Fatal Four-Car Crash In Baldwin Park
SAN BERNADINO, CA (MAY 1, 2019) - One person is dead after being struck in a four-car crash along the San Bernardino Freeway. Multiple lanes were blocked for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet sedan was driving eastbound around 3 a.m. on Friday, April 26, when it collided with a Volkswagen Passat. The Chevrolet’s passenger stepped out of the vehicle and stood directly in front of it sometime after the initial collision.
The 25-year-old passenger, whose identity has not been released, was then struck by a Toyota Prius traveling eastbound in the second lane. After striking the victim, the Prius collided with another Toyota, authorities said.
The 25-year-old passenger suffered fatal injuries, while the 18-year-old Prius driver was taken to the Queen of the Valley hospital. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
No arrests were made and alcohol or drugs were not suspected factors in the crash.
