Driver Arrested in Connection with Suspected DUI Crash

Bakersfield, CA (August 12, 2019) At least two children were injured in a suspected DUI crash on Monday, August 12th. Police have arrested Eduardo Luis Blanco, 27, for driving under the influence in connection with a two-vehicle crash that occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Di Giorgio Road.

According to reports, Blanco was driving a GMC pickup truck eastbound when he drifted into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle head-on. Blanco’s 3-year-old passenger suffered a broken arm and cuts to her face.

The GMC was also carrying several children, a 9-month-old, a 4-year-old, and a 9-year-old, all of whom were injured. The driver of the GMC and an adult passenger also suffered broken bones. The two youngest were airlifted to Valley Children’s hospital.

According to court records, Blanco previously pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in 2014.
