1 Dead, 3 Injured in a 2-Car Crash in North Hollywood
Los Angeles, CA (February 27, 2023) — One person died and three others were injured on Sunday night after a serious crash involving two cars in North Hollywood. The accident happened at 11482 West Magnolia Boulevard just after 7:00 PM.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman driving a gray sedan northbound on the 170 Freeway ran a red light after exiting at Magnolia Boulevard. She struck a Honda CRV carrying three people, including a 10-month-old baby. The collision caused the CRV to overturn, trapping some of the occupants in the vehicle. First responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department worked hard to free a 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man from the wreck.
Authorities state that the infant was pulled out almost immediately and taken to the hospital in stable condition. The woman in the CRV is in critical condition. Detectives confirmed that the man died from his injuries, though it is not clear if this was at the scene or at the hospital. Currently, the woman who ran the red light is in the hospital and is expected to survive. Investigations so far haven’t confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
