9 Injured in Canoga Park Crash
Canoga Park, CA -- A multi-vehicle crash Sunday night injured nine people. Officials stated that five of the victims received possible life-threatening injuries.
One of the vehicles involved in the accident sheared a fire hydrant off of the sidewalk. Water was spewing out of the hole for over an hour. A lot of the water landed on the roof of a nearby shoe store and it collapsed, flooding the interior.
Powerlines were also drowned, knocking out power to the area. The intersection remained closed for hours while crews investigated and cleaned up.
Officials are unsure how many vehicles were in the accident and what caused the crash. The authorities arrested a woman involved in the crash suspected of a DUI.
It is still unclear if those hurt were pedestrians, car passengers, or people in the shop. A manager of the shoe store stated that all employees were accounted for but did not mention if any were among the injured.
Starpoint Law expresses its deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragic accident. Car accidents are often tragic and require a lot of time for investigation. Once fault is determined and the cause of the crash understood, the responsible party can be held accountable.
